Live table glossary

Live Baccarat Terms for Singapore Readers

Read the labels, scoring and interface before interpreting a live table.

01

Player, Banker and Tie are outcomes

Player and Banker label the two hands compared in a round; Player does not mean the person using the interface. Tie means the final hand totals are equal. Exact settlement and commission rules must be read at the current table.

02

How baccarat totals are read

Cards two through nine use their face value, aces count as one, and tens and picture cards count as zero. Only the final digit of a total is used: seven plus six totals thirteen, so the baccarat value is three.

  • Natural: an initial two-card total of eight or nine
  • Draw: an additional card is dealt under the game rules
  • Stand: no additional card is dealt to that hand
03

Third-card rules are automatic

The Player and Banker hands do not independently choose whether to draw. The table rules determine the action from the current totals and, for Banker, sometimes the Player's third card. Consult the exact game rules rather than using a simplified memory rule.

04

Interface terms still need checking

  • Table limits: current minimum and maximum stakes
  • Commission: settlement adjustment defined by the table rules
  • Side bet: a separate wager with its own rules and payout
  • Roadmap: a display of earlier results, not a prediction
  • Shoe: the card supply used across rounds
